Wireless Communication Projects for Engineering Students Wireless communication is defined as sending information from one point to another point or multiple points without using wires. Wireless communication allows long-range communication, whereas in other communications it is impossible to implement using wires. This communication is used in telecommunication industries and it uses some type of energy to transfer information without using wires over short & long distances. These technologies use radio waves using the radio for short and long-distance radio communications. This communication is mainly used in mobile, fixed, and portable devices that include PDAs, radio, cell phones, and the applications of wireless communication projects include garage door openers, GPS, wireless computer mice keyboards, satellite vision, headsets, broadcast television, etc. Wireless Communication Projects Wireless communication-based projects mainly involve different types of wireless technologies such as GPS, Bluetooth, FID, Zigbee, and GSM. For a better understanding of these wireless communication technologies, we have discussed it with projects. Wireless Communication Projects So, let us once look at some of the wireless communication-based project ideas collected especially for engineering students. We hope these project ideas are more helpful to many final year students to complete their B. Tech successfully. The owner can connect the Bluetooth device with the android application to the system. The proposed system uses an ATMEGA microcontroller to control the garage door open and close by entering the unique password. Bluetooth based Garage Door Opening Wireless Communication Project When the entered password is right, then the door will be open otherwise it will generate a buzzer sound. Further, this project can be enhanced by using an EEPROM so that the password can be changed by the authorized person. DTMF based Load Control System This load control system using dual-tone multi-frequency is used to switch any electrical loads. In various industries, agriculture fields, and in the houses different loads are located in large areas so, controlling loads is a difficult task. To overcome this problem, the proposed system is designed to control the loads remotely by using DTMF technology A cell phone is connected to a DTMF decoder with this project from its audio o/p outlet for receiving tone instructions. The receiving cell phone codes are changed into digital instructions by using a DTMF Decoder which will recognize the frequency of the key and alter that frequency to its corresponding digital code which is then fed to a microcontroller. According to the instructions sent from the mobile user, the 8051 microcontrollers will send indications through a buffer to activate the particular loads by switching the relays ON/OFF. These relays are triggered by a relay driver IC connected to the microcontroller. DTMF based Load Control System Project Kit In the future, this project can be developed by using a GSM modem, where the different electrical loads can be controlled by sending an SMS. This will remove the necessity of replying to the call for the system to work. Smart Card Technology-based Security System The main goal of this project is to design a security system using smart card technology to control a device or to access an area. This smart card technology is used in many organizations to access a secure area by using a valid smart card. At present, human interference was compulsory to observe all these parameters, but using this project no human interference is required. Because this project uses a valid smart card to operate devices. Security System based on Smart Card Technology The smart card reader is interfaced with an 8051 family microcontroller. When the data is read from the smart card data on the microcontroller matches, then the message will display on the LCD that the smart card is authorized. A relay is used instantaneously to turn ON a lamp If an unauthorized card is interleaved in the smart card reader, it displays the message on the LCD display that the card is not authorized and the lamp remains OFF representing that the person is not authorized to entrée the specific area or device. In the future, this project can be developed by adding a GSM modem such that any effort of illegal access is made, then an SMS is sent to the concerned department. Zigbee based Automatic Meter Reading System The main concept of this project is to design an automatic energy meter reading system using Zigbee. This meter sends unit-based pulses which are connected to an Optocoupler that calculates the pulses every time, then the led blinks. As per the ingesting, it gives the necessary interrupt signal to a microcontroller. Zigbee based Automatic Meter Reading System Project Kit The 8051 microcontroller receives the reading from the meter through an Opto-isolator and the reading will be displayed on the LCD which is interfaced with the microcontroller. The energy meter’s reading is sent wirelessly to the user of the personal computer by a serial data transfer via a 2.4 GHz XBee module attached to the microcontroller. Underwater Optical Wireless Communication Project Transferring of information wirelessly underwater plays an essential role in different applications like monitoring of pollution, oil control, tactical surveillance, monitoring the change of climate & research in oceanography. This can be achieved by arranging different devices underwater which has high capacity & bandwidth to transfer the information underwater. This occurrence will impact on the system performance. Wireless Security System Project This project is used to demonstrate a security system wirelessly. In this project, four motion sensors like PIR (pyroelectric infrared) are arranged on four sides like back, front, right and left side, so that area can be covered. This project detects the motion of the person from any side & immediately generates an alarm and it displays where the motion of the intruder is detected. The signal transmission can be done wirelessly to the central controller using different sensors. Accident Identification System Day by day, the usage of two-wheeler and four-wheeler vehicles is increasing radically. So accident rates are also increased due to over speed, over stress, gadgets usage while driving, mind diverts, drunk & drive. This project implements a detection system for accidents that may occur due to the negligence of the vehicle driver. To overcome this problem, an alerting system for accidents is implemented to give an alert to the driver of the vehicle. Once the vehicle accident takes place then this proposed system will send the information regarding the accident to the registered phone number. Wireless Camera Position System This project designs a system for positioning the wireless camera to monitor the audio or video signals through a PC. The development of this system can be done using the RFID system, microcontroller like AT89S52, and circuits for motor driving & PC interfacing. The implementation of the controlling circuit can be done using hardware & software modules. These modules are used for the camera which moves in a 360-degree angle. So that it provides the highest security. Wireless over Temperature Alarm Project This project is used as a warning device. Once the temperature increases a fixed level then this device generates an alarm. Generally, it is used as a warning signal or a door-alert signal. In modern technology, some devices use high temperatures to offer a temperature control device. But, in some situations, control devices will not work properly so at that time alarm device for over temperature is installed. Wireless Power Transmission Project The transmission of power can be done wirelessly rather than using copper cables or current-carrying wires. In this project, two coils are used like primary and secondary. The primary coil works like a transmitter whereas the secondary coil works like the receiver. The load can be operated through the power received from the transmitter. This project is mainly used to charge the batteries of the pacemaker.
